Based on Judges Chapter 6:
The story of Gideon is a powerful example of how our Messiah, Jesus Christ sees us. He sees us as people that are filled with His attributes. He sees us as conquers and victorious. People of mighty works in His name, works and miracles that He did and even greater!
From time to time we may feel afraid, fearful, frustrated and not very victorious with ourselves and with life, much as Gideon did. When The Angel of The Lord (Yeshua, Jesus) appeared to Gideon, he was at a wine press threshing wheat. Threshing wheat in a wine press
( See the wine press at Shivta, Israel ) would have concealed Gideon so that no one would have seen him, the fact that he was threshing wheat in secret, well that’s very telling about the state of Gideon’s heart and mind at that time and it reveals to us that he was most likely ruled by fear and doubt.
I want to turn our attention to what The Angel of The Lord said to Gideon. He said, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” Interesting how the Lord announced what Gideon would become because Gideon by his own admission was anything but a “Man of Valor,” and in fact, at that very announcement the Lord put in motion the events that would lead to Gideon becoming “The Man of Valor.”
You see, God sees us as what He knows we will become and when He speaks something, it has to accomplish the thing the Lord speaks into existence. The Bible says it this way in Isaiah 55:11; “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Therefore, when God says something, like in Gideon’s case, it had to happen, hence Gideon had to become God’s “Man of Valor.”
I wonder how the Lord sees me? I wonder how He sees you? If the Lord were to appear to us what would He say to you and to me? I can’t stop thinking about that question since my wife suggested that we read Judges 6 together. Something worth praying about for sure, wouldn’t you agree?
I hope that the Lord will be able to say to us all who believe, “my Son or Daughter of great faith, enter into my rest, well done good and faithful friend!”
Final thought about Gideon. In the story outlined in scripture (Judges 6-8) it was very apparent that whenever Gideon found himself challenged, he went to the Lord immediately. There's a lesson here for us as well. When Gideon went to God, God helped Him. Sometimes we buy the lie from the enemy that says, God doesn't hear you like He did with the Old Testament Saints, you're kidding yourself. Here's what the Lord has shown me and this comes from over 38 years walking with Yeshua. Because we accepted Yeshua, Jesus Christ as our Messiah and accept His atoning work on the cross for us, we are His forever. We are His sons and daughters of faith and He loves us with an undieing, everlasting love and when we go to Him with our praise, thanks and yes, our concerns and grief, He is there to help us in our time of need.
Go to Him, the ONE who loves you and cares for you, He will help you!
Remember, the Lord loves us more than any of us will ever know. After all, He died and shed His blood for us and held nothing back!
How are you treating God today? I know how He's treating you...

'But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned, and a sword comes and takes a person from them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require from the watchman's hand.' Ezekiel 33:6
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. 1Thessalonians 5:1-6
“My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of the house of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD. Because they lead my people astray, saying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace …” Ezekiel 13:9-10
