I had to blog this and get it out to you. I’ve read this before, but tonight it really tugged at my heart! Thank you Andrea our friend of 26 years for the reminder and sending this to me.
The prize doesn't always go to the most deserving. But in Irena’s heart she didn’t care about recognition…
Died -12 May 2008 (aged 98)
During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto, as a plumbing/sewer specialist.
She had an 'ulterior motive'.
She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews (being German).
Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger children).
She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto.
The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the infants' noises. During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 children/infants. She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs and arms and beat her severely.
Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and reunited the family. Most had been gassed. Those children that she helped were placed into foster family homes or adopted.
In 2007 Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was not selected.
President Obama won for his work as a community organizer for ACORN and Al Gore won also --- for a slide show on Global Warming.
In MEMORIAM - 63 YEARS LATER
I hope you'll consider sharing this... There are “share” buttons at the bottom of this post. Please share this heart-warming story of a modern-day hero with your friends and online connections! Thank you!
It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This e-mail is being posted as a memorial post, in memory of the six million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated!
Now, more than ever, with Iran, and others, claiming the HOLOCAUST to be 'a myth', it's imperative to make sure the world never forgets, because there are others who would like to do it again.
Join me and my friends who sent this to me and help us spread this message.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.
Until next time God willing...
Keep looking up because Messiah's return is at the door!
Peace and Love in Jesus The Messiah,
Shalom v'ahava b'Yeshua Ha'Mashiach

'But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned, and a sword comes and takes a person from them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require from the watchman's hand.' ~Ezekiel 33:6
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. ~1Thessalonians 5:1-6
“My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of the house of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD. Because they lead my people astray, saying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace …”
Ezekiel 13:9-10
There are no words to describe how I feel about this lovely woman . She was the epitome of the Gospel in action . What an example of selfless love for the Jews , at risk to great cost to herself . She knew that and still carried on .
