Brother Jim brings to light some very interesting facts. He is right, we have no way of knowing if the events we are witnessing now could result in the destruction of Damascus per Isaiah 17.
The Syrian civil war is creating a great disturbance in the Middle East and if it continues it will spill over into Israel.
Time will tell however how all of this develops...
Think on this: “See, Damascus will no longer be a city but will become a heap of ruins… the fortified city will disappear and royal power from Damascus.”…”This is what Yahweh says: For three sins of Damascus even for four, I will not turn back my wrath…. I will break down the gate of Damascus, I will destroy the king…the one who holds the scepter.”…”Yahweh has established his throne in heaven, and, his kingdom rules over all.” (Isaiah 17:1-3;Amos 1:3-5; Psalm 103:19)

Pray on this: Gracious Father, though your people may be in “Dire Straits” humanly speaking, You are still in sovereign control. We stand on your Word that declares, “No temptation or trial has seized you except what is common to man. But God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted or tried beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted or tried, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” (I Corinthians 10:13) Hallelu Yah!

But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. ~1Thessalonians 5:1-6
