BILLY GRAHAM: “MY HEART ACHES FOR AMERICA”; New letter addresses nation’s declining morality and the need for spiritual revival

America is in grave danger. The massacre in Aurora. The child sex abuse scandal at Penn State. The scourge of abortion and pornography and runaway spending and debt in Washington. The list tragically goes on an on. In Implosion, I try to document how serious the situation is, and how a Third Great Awakening is the only answer.

In this context, I am encouraged by a new open letter to America written by Dr. Billy Graham. He makes some excellent points. Here are excerpts. Please read them, pray over them, and share them with as many as you can.  

Pastors, would you consider reading excerpts from Dr. Graham’s letter at your Wednesday service this week? Would you consider turning your mid-week service into a call to prayer, fasting and repentance, along the lines of 2 Chronicles 7:14 and Joel chapter 2?

America urgently needs a wake up call, beginning with the Church. May Christ Jesus use you to preach a clear message of repentance, and to lead the congregation you shepherd before the throne of grace to seek God’s mercy on our country before it is too late.

It's time to take action and not stand idly by as evil runs unrestrained against all of us. God has called us to stand in the gap for people and has give us "spiruitual" weapons to fight the good fight.

The Bible tells us that there is a time for everything…

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing; A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.

2 Corinthians 10:3-6

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

You may be asking yourself, what can I do? I'm just one person...You can stop for 15 minutes tonight at 7pm and pray and ask the God of the Universe for His help on behalf of our nation. One person can make a difference.

"When good men and women do nothing, evil will prosper."

I recognize that this is getting to you late. However, it's never too late to humble ourselves and call upon the Lord to interceed on our nations behalf. If you can't take action this Wednesday, you may be able to do so next Wednesday.

I pray that all the Pastors who read this will take immediate ACTION!

yep, Bro. Stef...I find it amazing that God speaks once, twice and over and over again until we get the message...it takes time for people to get the message through their blinded hearts and heads to sink in...Prophets are misunderstood bcuz the people don't believe God is speaking..they think it is just man/woman making a show...but we have the mind of Christ and we can't help but speak what we hear the Spirit of the Lord is saying and only those that hear with spiritual ears and see with spiritual eyes will get it...It begins with the wise...for they do understand...for they incline their ears to knowledge of the Holy one...and to relay it to those that do not hear...and praying for their spiritual ears to open and their blind eyes to see the lateness of the hour...God's mercy triumps over judgement and these remedial judgements of this hour is to bring remedy for the lost and dying world..to repent and turn back to God..before the wound is incurable and all is lost...May God continue to give us time to reach the nations and ours especially before that notable coming day of the Lord where He will execute judgement on all His enemies...Prayer is a beginning and Evangelism follows...
