I was on a blog and an individual says, "Homosexuals don't have a choice, they're born that way." Well, as you can imagine I said to myself, "really..." Below is what I posted in response to the above statement.
Alternative lifestyles are a choice. I’ll conceded that someone may be born with a leaning toward an affection for the opposite sex, but here’s where personal responsibility and choice come into play. Because we know that the Bible prohibits men and women having sexual relations with one another, if you claim to be a Bible Believing Christian or Jew, then you can make a choice to “not” give into those desires and abstain from sexual relations.
If I have a desire to drink and become intoxicated God holds me “personally” responsible to abstain from that behavior that He does not approve of. It doesn’t really matter what the sin is, the action to abstain still holds true and all of us are asked by the Bible, God, to not give in to our fleshly desires. [Romans 8]
Many of the people of the era we live in today don't want to hear, you can’t do this or that. They want their ears tickled with the sounds of “do it if it feels good,” nothing could be further from the truth!
All of us must pray that God will give each and everyone of us the strength and grace to repent and stop doing those things that hurt and pain the heart of God. Whether your gay or straight we all fall into this category of saying “NO” to sin!
Oh yes, there are absolutes and one of them is to resist the fleshly desires that are at war with us and the Spirit of God that indwells all believers. There is no getting away from it, sin is sin and we are called to run from it!
Below is the video that sparked this in me today. Thank you goes our to the Jerusalem Connection for their faithfulness to report the truth!
Think on this: “Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman: That is detestable.”…”Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. … Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” … “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus … who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.” (Leviticus 18:23: Romans 1:36-32; 8:1, 4)
Pray on this: Our Father, our President has approved of what you have declared is an abomination. Either change or remove him before he makes the same kind of catastrophic decision regarding Israel and the Jewish people that can only bring the wrath of your disapproval. In Jesus name, AMEN!
Until next time God willing...
Keep looking up because Messiah's return is at the door!
'But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned, and a sword comes and takes a person from them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require from the watchman's hand.' Ezekiel 33:6

But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. ~1Thessalonians 5:1-6
I was not suprised that Obama made the decision for gay rights and for the United States to push this. And yes, to live pervertly in this kind of sin is an abomination to God. We are told by the world that we are to tolerate this sin and the people who live this way. Truth be told God does not tolerate this as sin so why should we. Are we going to stand against this perversion or are we going to accept it? We are also told that people are born this way, or that it is in the gene of the person. This is a lie right from the pit of hell. Are we going to accept this lie or are we going to stand against it? The person is the one who makes the choice to live that way. God doesn't make us that way. He gave all of us a free will to sin or not to sin.
Here in Canada where I live even if a pastor or anyone stand against or speak against this sin we are charged with religious harassment and we pay a fine.
The day will come when it will be much worse. They will say that good is evil and evil is good. May the Lord not tarry any longer. I desire for the Lord's return.

Thanks Donna for the comments! You're correct we cannot tolerate this sin or any for that matter. What I was trying to point out was the common sense approach to sin in general. The Christian community has a habit of jumping on some sins more than others. Sin is sin no matter what type it may be.
As believers we need to extend a hand of mercy and compassion to all people and invite them to accept Christ as the answer to their particular sin dilemma.
God is a gracious God, this I know you also believe and everyone can come to His throne no matter what their sin may be, if they are willing to repent of it and agree with God that it has no place in their lives.
Thanks again for commenting,
Bro Stef :)

Hi Bro Stef,
Thank you for your input. Yes I agree we are to accept all people no matter what they may do, however we are not to accept the sin. Also there are other sins that are an abomination in God's sight. I also agree that we are to minister to everyone that is living in sin and show them to Christ who can set them free from their sins. I hope in the last statement that I shared that it was not being negative. I was just expressing my thoughts to what you had shared in your report.
